Avanthi Group of Colleges held their 'Convocation Day' at Avanthi Engineering College and Technology campus, Tagarapuvalasa on 20-12-2022. The Chief Guest of the event, Former Vice-President of the country, His Excellency Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu garu, delivered his message to the students and advised to go back to their roots and relive the great culture and tradition of the land. Nature and culture are the way to go forward, he suggested the students. He urged the students to follow the 4 'c' s of character, calibre, capacity and conduct to come up in life. India is the Motherland of great souls like Swami Vivekananda, Gautam Buddha and Mahatma Gandhi who are renowned all over the world. He advised the students to be inspired by so many great personalities from our country. The Chief Guest had a word of appreciation for Avanthi students for their discipline and Avanthi Management for the nice and spacious ambience on its premises. He appealed to the students to get rid of the colonial mind-set and adopt 'Bharathiyata' in their food habits, culture ,language and lifestyle. The students should return to their motherland to serve its people after their stint in foreign lands, according to him. Indian civilization believes in Vasudaiva Kutumbam, the whole world as one family and has been a Viswaguru for many centuries. He wants the students to uphold the glory of their great nation wherever they go. The guest of honour, Padma Bhushan Dr. Y. Laxmi Prasad Garu, asked the students to be global citizens. Your success depends on you alone, he advised the students. He said that India has a perennial civilization of over 5000 years and is a Viswaguru to the world. Great individuals like Mahatma Gandhi and Buddha were born in this land, he reminded the students. He concluded his speech by saying 'Hum kisi se kum nahin' 'Mera Bharat Mahaan'. Sri M. Srinivasa Rao garu , MLA, Bheemili, and the Chairman of Avanthi Group of Colleges, addressed the gathering. He asked the students to take Swami Vivekananda as their inspiration and achieve greater heights in life. 'Arise, Awake and Stop not till the goal is reached' is the message of Swamiji which should inspire all the students. He was all praise for the former Vice-President Sri. Venkaiah Naidu garu for his commitment to the development of Andhra Pradesh. He remembered how Sri. M. Venkaiah Naidu Garu played a crucial role in bringing various institutions like IIM, NIT, AIIMS and Petroleum University to Andhra Pradesh during his tenure as the union cabinet minister. He exhorted the students to take the lives of Sri. Venkiah Naidu Garu and Y. Lakshmi Prasad Garu as an inspiration to believe that a modest background is not a bar to success in life. The Principal of Avanthi College of Engineering, Makavarapupalem Prof. C. Mohan Rao read out the annual report of the college. He highlighted the impressive academic achievements of Avanthi students and its stellar placement record of placing 1120 plus students in the current academic year. He informed the gathering that more than two lakh Avantians have been educated in the Avanthi group of colleges over its three decades journey. He laid out several programmes like NSS, NCC, Awareness Camps, workshops and seminars organised by the college for the benefit of its students in his address. 60 meritorious students among the passing out students of various courses like engineering, pharma, management etc. have received Gold and Silver medals of honor from the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour. About 800 students received provisional certificates in convocation attire. The General Secretary of Avanthi Group Dr. M. Priyanka, Joint Secretary M.S. Nandish, Director Dr. A. Chandrasekhar, Principals, faculty, parents and students were present for the occasion.
